Your matters are handled confidentially under a written client agreement. Where a matter calls for a regulated firm — litigation, advocacy, or advice that needs the protection of legal professional privilege — we will say so at the outset and refer you to one.

Anupoma Joyeeta Joyee was called to the Bar by The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn and is an unregistered barrister. She does not hold a practising certificate and does not practise as a barrister: the work provided here is consultancy. She also holds the CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma.
Because this work is not carried out as a practising barrister, the Bar Standards Board’s conduct rules for practising barristers do not apply to it, and complaints about it are handled by us rather than by the Bar Standards Board or the Legal Ombudsman. Our complaints procedure is below.
Legal advice privilege applies to advice given by members of the legal profession acting in that capacity. As no practising certificate is held, advice from Joyee Praxis Advisory should not be assumed to attract legal advice privilege. Litigation privilege is a separate protection, and may still apply where the dominant purpose of a communication is actual or contemplated proceedings, including employment tribunal claims.
In practice this matters less often than it first sounds. Much of what we do — building the process, drafting the documents, getting the records right — produces material that would be disclosable in any event, whoever advised on it. Where privilege is genuinely material to a decision you are taking, we will tell you and refer you to a regulated firm.
Confidentiality is a separate thing, and it is unaffected. It is a contractual duty owed to you under the client agreement, and it applies whether or not privilege does.
Joyee Praxis Advisory operates from Australia and advises UK clients remotely. Personal data you provide is therefore accessed and processed outside the UK, under the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
We advise; you decide. Legal responsibility for meeting the applicable Regulations and Quality Standards remains with the registered provider, and nothing in our engagement makes us your Registered Manager, responsible individual or designated safeguarding lead.
If you are unhappy with anything, please tell us first, in writing, at anupoma@joyeepraxis.com. We will acknowledge within five working days and respond substantively within twenty. If we cannot resolve matters between us, the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
Clients receive the full regulatory statement in their engagement letter and confirm in writing that they have read it.
That is usually the right time to call. A short conversation will tell you whether you need a full onboarding package, a single piece of work, or nothing at all yet.
